Hermes Agent

Hermes uses Ling.AI as a provider through OpenAI-compatible environment variables; Hermes API server is the reverse direction.

Quick checklist

  1. Install Hermes Agent and confirm the version exposes OpenAI-compatible provider environment variables.
  2. Set OPENAI_BASE_URL to https://api.vip.lingapi.ai/v1 and OPENAI_API_KEY to your Ling.AI key.
  3. Set the model id from /v1/models in the Hermes provider configuration.
  4. Avoid confusing provider mode with the Hermes API server mode, which exposes Hermes to other clients.

Direction matters

Hermes uses Ling.AI as a provider when it sends model requests to Ling.AI. Hermes API server is the reverse direction and does not configure Ling.AI as upstream capacity.

CC Switch

Hermes can also be configured from the Hermes tool page in CC Switch with base URL https://api.vip.lingapi.ai/v1 and a model id from /v1/models. Restart Hermes after switching providers.

Validation

Run a short prompt with file writes disabled first, then confirm request logs and billing records in Ling.AI.
